music Field Mobb ft. Ciara & Jazze PhaSo What

Turned 17 yesterday! Weeee, only one year ’til the big 1-8. Wow. Time flies like mad… Unbelieveable. I didn’t do much yesterday, just kicked back at home, ate pizza and watched some TV. It was alright.

The day before my birthday, Tine had a sleepoverparty at her house, cause the lucky bastard is home alone for like..3 weeks! So, me, her, Kristina two friends of Tine (Maren & Eline), Tine’s boyfriend Kevin, his friends Mads and Kristian AND Jim just hung out together, listend to music and acted like stupid kids. It was really fun, Ilove hanging out with kids like that. Especially them, because they’re SO funny! Haha. Tine was the craziest, dancing around like a retard. Awww, love you baby! :lovethought:

Since my birthday was the day after, Kristina baked me a huge chocolate cake with my name on it! I almost cried..lol. It was so nice of her! Hehe, so we decided to eat it at midnight, and we put on 50 Cent’s ‘In Da Club’ exactly at midnight. And everybody was like “Go Shorty, it’s ya birthday! We gon’ party like it’s ya birthday!”, lol. Hilarious. Made me hella happy, though. Got a hug from the whole gang. Didn’t get much of the cake, though. Kevin ate half of it! (jævla gris  ).
Anywho, it was fun! Had a bllllllast.

Last day of school was on Thursday. I’M FINALLY FREE!!!  :cheer: Woah. It feels like a weight has been lifted from my shoulders, of something cheesy like that..lol. But it’s going by so fast already… I mean, next Saturday is the 1st of July already! :irritated: *le sigh*
But I’m not going to complain: in two weeks time me and the craziest bunch of kids are going to Norways biggest musicfestival all by our little selves! KANYE WEST! I’m so getting invited on stage by him…haha. Only 10 days left! My God.

Other than seeing my future babyfather (Kanye, that is), I don’t really have anymore plans for the break. Might go shopping… And to Norway Cup, and the amusement park on Friday. Will be funfunfun!

music The Go! TeamLadyflash

I was watching a documentary on TV late last night about childeren in Africa battling Noma disease. I didn’t know wether to laugh because the conditions and individual cases were so tragic, cry because I felt sorry, furious and helpless at the same time or throw up in pure disguist.

I don’t know if you know what Noma is. I didn’t really know what it was and what caused it, until I looked it up on Wikipedia. It’s basically a disease that causes your face to just rot. And when I say rot, I litterally mean that you’re face (mostly your mouth and cheek area) because a show of themselves. Like a black hole. It causes the flesh to just…decay. You should’ve seen they’re faces, it’s…. I can’t even begin to describe the feeling you get looking at them. you’re just in such…awe.
The documentary was filmed by two Danish men in the only hospital in Africa that treats Noma in Nigeria. There were infected childeren everywhere, just balling there little eyes out it pain. I swear, it’s the most tragic thing I’ve ever seen. Noma affects childeren between 2 and 6 years-old, and the worst thing about it is that the disease is caused by malnutrition, meaning these kids are left without a real face because they don’t get enough food. And because they don’t get enough food, they’re immune system is weak and they can’t fight it.

And this hospital…man. I wouldn’t even think twice about going there for medical attention, because it was not at all close to international standards. Patients had to sleep on the floor because of the lack of beds. The hygine was terrible, the electricity kept being cut off. They didn’t even have much food. And the people responsible for handing out food there took half of it for themeselves, so they didn’t have to go out of there way to get food. And these people get PAID for doing this.

These people have nothing. They’re unbelievably poor. It’s almost sick. It’s beyond me that people like you and me don’t even lift a finger to help them. Where is this world going? The funny thing is that Nigeria is one of the worlds richest nations because of they’re oil, yet they don’t even produce gas. It’s that ironic? The problem is that they have all the minerals, they have resources to build they’re economy, but they keep getting expolited. By us. By us and they’re corrupt goverment. It’s like Africa is the worlds playground, and we take and take and take but never give back.

The two Danish men how made this documentary were talking about the fact that if there was a case of Noma that affected some rich, white family anywhere else in the world, people would be all over the story. And it’s ture. If one, little white girl in say The United States got Noma the media would have a field day. But since this disease lives inside 400 thousand poor, black childeren in the heart of Africa nobody seems to want to talk about it. No-one wants to aknowledge the situation and face the fact that people are dying. I don’t care if you’re black, white, yellow or purple: you are a human being and derserve to be seen and you deserve help.

But nobody even cares. [click here read more about Noma]

iTunes + Last.FM = Life

music Spank RockSweet Talk

I’m officialy hooked. iTunes and last.fm have taken over my sweet little life forever. Forever, ever. Forever, ever! I can’t even begin to imagine how much time I’ve spent on both these last few days..lol. It’s horrible but awesome at the same time.

For you dimwits (hah, just kidding) that don’t know what last.fm is, it’s this thingy…lol. You download a plug-in for your musicplayer of choice (mine being the sexy iTunes) and it registers everything you stream, every song, every artist etc. Then the plugin uploads the information to last.fm and BAM! You got it all there. The cool thing about is that there’like a billion user on there, and an amazing amout of music (any band or artist you can think of is on there) and you can discover new music all the time. So, I’ve discovered Sufjan Stevens, Modest Mouse, Prefuse 73, Handsome Boy Modeling School and Four Tet!

Sufjan being somewhat like John Mayer and Jack Johson, only better

Modest Mouse being an awesome indie rock band, that reminds me of a cross between Yeah Yeah Yeahs, OK Go and The Thrills

Prefuse 73 is genius. Kind of like RJD2; instrumental hip-hop inspired by electronic music.

Four Tet is electronica at it’s very best. Röyksopp on acid.

Handomse Boy Modeling School. Fusion of hip-hop and electronica. Hard to explain, you gotta hear it for yourself.

God, I really needed some fresh music so I’m glad I finally opened my bright eyes to the wonderful world of last.fm. Aaahh. If you haven’t heard (of) any of those musicians I just mentioned – check them out NOW! They’re awesome. I’m planning on checking out some more indie stuff, cause I’m sick and tired of listening to mainstreem music. Not that it’s all bad, but I like music that not everybody listens too. Makes me feel special lol.

Bands I plan on checking out: Death Cab for Cutie, The Arcade Fire, Elliott Smith, Death From Above 1979, New Order and Sonic Youth. Oh yes. Can’t wait.
